Better shadows tweak - force Unreal Virtual shadows.

This ini tweak force the game to use the UE5 Virtual Shadowmap instead of the in game ugly shadowmaps.

Not only you'll get way better shadows, but they'll also be a lot less shimmery in motion.

You will lose around 3 to 5 FPS.

You can still change the shadows settings in game with this, so you can reduce the quality from one notch, use this tweak, and you'll get better shadow while getting you performance back.

It's a perfect compromise if you can't afford to use the in game RT settings, the screens are taken WITHOUT RT.

This tweak is NOT needed if you use RT, RT already use his own shadows technique.

Why this tweak ? Without RT the game use some very low resolution shadow map, this tweak fix it by forcing Unreal engine virtual shadows which looks way better while not destroying the framerate.

INSTALLATION

Download the file and drop Engine.ini into -> C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\b1\Saved\Config\Windows

say yes when it ask to override.

If you don't find the location you can press the windows key and type %LOCALAPPDATA% and press enter.

If you want to remove it, open Engine.ini and delete all these lines :

r. Shadow. Virtual. Enable=1

Of course, you can add them in the .ini by yourself.
