📋 About This Mod
A ReShade with 4 presets, two of them focused on reflections, ranging from a basic preset with corrections and improvements to presets with more advanced reflections, offering something for all preferences.
In English:
These presets will work 100% with ReShade version v6. 3. 1. I cannot, and do not want to, guarantee that it will work with ReShade versions newer or older than this one. If there’s already a newer version of ReShade, you can find version 6. 3. 1 in this repository here:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository
-ReShade Installation and Configuration -
- Download version 6. 3. 1 of ReShade from the repository given above.
- Install ReShade as usual, choosing the API for Win10/11/12 during installation.
- During installation, select all shaders to download; not all are used, of course, but this avoids issues. If you want, you can later delete the ones not in use, that's up to you.
- Finish the installation.
- Copy the presets found inside the "BRE - Rapture Versions" folder to the following directory:
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\BioShockRemastered\Build\Final
Your directory may vary depending on where the game is installed, but they must go inside the "Final" folder in the main game directory.
Once installation is complete, you should see the following list of files:
"reshade-shaders"folder
BRE- Rapture Lives.ini
BRE- Rapture Lives_Filmic Version.ini
BRE- Rapture Reflects.ini
BRE- Rapture Reflects_Filmic Version.ini
ReShade.ini (This may not appear initially, and will be created once you enter the game and configure ReShade in-game).
Once everything is ready:
- Start the game, open the ReShade GUI using the "Home" key by default.
NOTE: Skip the tutorial if it appears.
- At the very top, click the dropdown menu beside the two small arrows to open the list of presets; you should see all those we added earlier.
- Double-click to load the preset you want, and that's it.
All presets require the “Add-ons” tab to be configured as I have it in the image attached in this compressed file (in the download).
Everythingshould be working now... or should be.
-Errors and Solutions -
Error:
Theshader "SSR (qUINT_ssr.fx)" has certain limitations, so this isn’t really an error but rather a limitation. Here’s a description of the shader from the author:
Thiseffect adds glossy reflections to the scene. It cannot distinguish between different materials and as such will add reflections on everything, but in the right scenes, SSR can greatly improve realism.
This means, in case it wasn’t clear, that the shader doesn’t differentiate the game environment’s textures from the game’s own HUD textures. This can cause, and will cause, certain HUD elements to reflect "in some situations," and currently, there is no way to prevent this.
Personally, i believe the visual improvement more than makes up for occasionally seeing a HUD element reflected, but this is a matter of preference. That’s why there are four different presets, two of which don’t use the SSR shader.
Solution:
None, but I suggest disabling the preset "during game cinematics" as it may reflect "text" and other elements tha
