📋 About This Mod

Changes in 1. 1. of the no arms versions:

  • []fixed bug which could prevent arm mounted AC 20s from spawning in stores

  • []BattleTechModLoader, see instructions here

  • []ModTek, see instructions here

    Installation:

    • []Place into your ModTek folder

      Basic Version:

This mod sets the ammo count of Flamers, AC 2s, AC 5s and AC 10s to TT level. It also adjust the slots of AC 5s, AC 10s and AC 20s to match TT niveau. Since our mechs in BT have fewer slots as in the TT, I adjusted the values to match how many slots are left in the torso after installing the weapons.

      The following changes were done:

      • []Flamer ammo changed from 4 to 100, to simulate not needing ammo in TT.

      • []AC 2 ammo changed from 25 to 45

      • []AC 5 ammo changed from 15 to 20

      • []AC 10 ammo changed from 8 to 10.

      • []AC 5 slots changed from 2 to 3. I decided against going up to the 4 slots of the TT version, because 3 AC 5s in one torso was a possible build in TT and wouldn't be one with 4 slots in BT.

      • []AC 10 slots changed from 3 to 5. Matchs the BT Gauss, which was correctly scaled.

      • []AC 20 slots changed from 4 to 8. Gives the same result in a torso as in TT, while keeping the possibility to arm mount. I know some people would prefer it if you couldn't mount AC 20s in the arms in BT. If you prefer no arm mounts, look further down for the No arms versions of this mod.

      • []LRM 20, is 5 slots in TT and 4 in BT. Didn't touch it to keep the possibility to arm mount 2 of them. Same as with the AC 20, this was only possible in TT without lower arm accutator so,i f you prefer no arm mounts, look further down for the No arms versions of this mod.

        Incompatible with:

        • []Mods which change one of the following: AC 2 ammo, AC 5 ammo, AC 10 ammo, AC 5, AC 10, AC 20

          No Arms version

          The following changes were done:

          • []All changes of the basic version.

          • []Changes LRM 20 to 5 slots.

[]Changes AC 20 to 9 slots. This caused a bit of a problem since both Victors and King Crabs ingame depend on the 8 slots AC 20 to keep their stock loadout, thus the following changes were done:

          • []Created seperate 8 slot arm mounted (AM) versions  of all AC 20.

[]Changed Victor and King Crab stockloadout to use the AM version.

          • Added the AM AC 20s to relevant shops. You can buy them were you can get normal AC 20s, they appear half as often as the regular version.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod adjusts ammo counts for Flamer, AC/2, AC/5, and AC/10 to tabletop levels and modifies slot requirements for AC/5, AC/10, AC/20, and possibly LRM/20 to match tabletop rules. Two versions are included. A niche balance mod for Battletech players seeking tabletop accuracy.

✨ Key Features

Sets Flamer, AC/2, AC/5, and AC/10 ammo counts to tabletop levels.
Modifies slot requirements for AC/5, AC/10, AC/20, and possibly LRM/20 to match tabletop rules.
Comes in two versions for player choice.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Brings ammo and slot values closer to tabletop rules, a win for lore purists.
  • Small but focused scope—doesn't touch other weapons, so it's low-risk for balance.
  • Two versions give you options for how you want to apply the changes.

⚠️ Cons

  • Tiny userbase (5 endorsements) and last updated in 2018—may be outdated for current game patches.
  • Only affects a handful of weapons, so if you want broader TT adjustments, this won't cover everything.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Battletech players who want ammo and slot counts to match the tabletop game more closely. Skip if you're fine with the base game's balance or want a more comprehensive overhaul.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since the mod comes in two versions, check the file descriptions to pick the one that matches your preferred balance.
  • If you're using a mod manager, make sure to enable the mod after any other weapon balance mods to avoid conflicts.
  • Back up your save before installing if you're mid-campaign, as changes to ammo and slots can affect existing loadouts.
