Overclocked Weapons

Overclocked Weapons is an extremely simple mod. It takes the stock version of every weapon and doubles the damage of each of them. It also makes those weapons available in all shops. These weapons are also available in Skirmish. It does not change any other stats. Heat, recoil, ammo usage, etc. all remain exactly the same as their stock counterparts. If, like me, you suck at BATTLETECH and wish there was a way to make the game easier without completely breaking it, this mod is for you!

All weapons included in this mod will have the manufacturer name Glory Arms and will have an additional sentence in their description: Overclocked by Glory Arms.

To Install:

• []Open your BATTLETECH data folder, located in \steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data

  []Copy the contents of the zip file into that folder, overwrite any existing files.

  []You're done!

  Compatibility: By default, this mod won't work with any other mod that modifies VersionManifest, shopdef_Weapons_all, shopdef_Weapons_base_0, and shopdef_Weapons_base_1. If you'd like to install it alongside other mods that modify those, you'll have to manually open up this mod's version of each of those and copy all things that end in _0-Glory over to the game's copy of those files. Otherwise, this mod only adds weapons to the game which won't conflict with anything else.

    I haven't tested with others, but let me know if this works with other mods and I'll update the list.

    Balance Notes: Some people will probably say this mod is broken or cheating (which is why it's labeled as a cheat), but to be entirely honest, I've played several missions with it and have still come close to losing in a few cases. If there's interest for a version of this mod that only buffs weapons slightly or is more appropriately balanced (increased heat, C-bill cost, etc.), I'll look into making it. Let me know.

    Other Notes: This mod works with existing saves. If the weapons don't show up immediately in shops, you may need to refresh their inventory by waiting a few days (the default shop refresh interval is 14 days).
