    Overview

    ]

This is just a simple mod to replace the default shoulder camera with a pulled back and centered one. I think this dramatically changes the atmosphere of the game, allowing for some pretty amazing shots of Batman's silhouette, and also letting you see just how dynamic the cape physics in the game are. It effects all playable characters.

To use the mod, you must activate it in-game with a hot key, after which the mod will stay active until you exit the game, or return to the main menu. The camera wont actually change until you reset it, by performing any action that changes the camera (running, crouching, aiming, grapneling, etc). By default, the hotkey is F3, but you can change this in the BMInput.ini file. I wanted to make it so that the game loads with the mod already active, but I couldn't figure out a way to implement this. At least this way you don't lose the original camera altogether, if you'd like to use both.

Only the idle/walking camera is effected. It will return to a shoulder camera when aiming gadgets, and occasionally for certain context sensitive actions, like opening doors and for a half second when Batman pulls himself up after batclawing up to a ledge. The camera transitions are smooth and feel as though the game was designed with this camera in mind.

This mod does not change the default movement controls, so Batman will still always face forward, rather than facing the direction he's moving, like when in combat. (Sorry, no dramatic walking towards the camera shots. :c) I've read that there is a console command to make the combat camera always active, but it makes it so that you can't interact with people/objects. I wanted a camera solution that would work seamlessly. If I find a way to implement a change in movement without having to make the combat camera always active, then I'll update the mod with it.

Also, I've made it so that the camera can't quite look 100% up, to avoid it clipping through Batman's model. Its max pitch is like 90-95%, which seems to be perfectly adequate in gameplay. You can still look at the top of Wayne Tower when standing directly in-front of it. If you want to change this, you can alter the value of 'maxPitch' in the BMInput.ini file to 14500. 00000 to restore it to normal.

Big thanks to reddit user Mr_JAG, whose post on this thread gave me the necessary console commands to put together this mod. I tweaked the values to get a more desirable camera, and make it more seamless. It's possible this mod is redundant, since the console commands to do this have been known for years, but I've been wanting this mod for a long, long time, and just barely managed to find this obscure post to m
