Welcome to the NewAge Remaster, a comprehensive reconstruction project focused on achieving high-fidelity visual and technical precision while preserving the core aesthetic of the vanilla game.

• []Evaluated Shader Chain: A heavy, multi-layered pipeline of free best-in-class shaders designed to replace dated post-processing with modern high-fidelity techniques.[/]

  []Advanced Lighting: Integration of SSAO and Ray Reconstruction (based on free Marty McFly's shaders) for more realistic shadows and light distribution.[/]

  []Static Depth Detect (Custom Shader): Includes my proprietary shader developed specifically for this game. It intelligently detects the depth state of the 3D scene to prevent Menu and FMVs from interfering with other shaders.[/]

  — System Requirements —

  Since the primary goal was maximum quality, the hardware requirements are quite high.

  • []GPU: For stable gameplay at 1080p / 30+ FPS, an RTX 3060 or equivalent is required as minimum.[/]

    []Resolution: Currently, the preset is calibrated for 1080p only. Other resolutions may result in unintended visual artifacts or a deviation from the intended aesthetic. This is due to several shaders being configured based on specific pixel-point dimensions.[/]

    — Installation —

    • []Install the Vanilla game: Recommended Batman: Arkham Asylum - Game of the Year Edition (GOTY) (GOG, Steam)[/]

      []Install Reshade 6. 0+ (DX9) to Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY/Binaries/[/]

      []Download shaders: Check the list of necessary shaders (Github links)[/]

      []Copy preset: Move files to Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY/Binaries/[/]

      []Disable Anti-Aliasing: Run BmLauncher.exe and turn off Anti-Aliasing (it's necessary cause it blocks the ReShade's depth sensing)[/]

      []Max out built-in graphics settings: Configure BmLauncher.exe (this creates the headroom for proper visual enhancements)[/]

      []Launch: Run the game and check the Reshade state (HOME button)[/]
