📋 About This Mod

This mod supports the Open Faerûn initiative.

Equipment for followers of Bane, Bhaal, Myrkul, Asmodeus, Aupenser, Corellon Larethian, Cyric, Eilistraee, Ghaunadaur, Ilmater, Kelemvor, Kiaransalee, Kossuth, Lathander, Leira, Loviatar, Milil, Mystra, Oghma, the Raven Queen, Selûne, Shar, Silvanus, Sune, Talona, Talos, Tymora, Umberlee, Waukeen

Please note that all the items in this mod use Baldur's Gate 3's "vanilla" assets--i.e., these are unaltered 3D models from the game itself. While minor issues like unrendered textures have been corrected, major bugs such as model clipping and missing cloth physics may be present until Larian Studios makes alterations in a future patch. Furthermore, most of the items in this mod were created by the developers for use by NPCs in the game and were not intended for player use, so visuals for a particular item might not be available for every body type.

The following magic armours are relics of the Church of Bane. They were forged during the height of the Black Lord’s power, mostly between 1373 DR (The Year of Rogue Dragons) and 1385 DR (The Year of Blue Fire).

Bane, along with long-time collaborators Bhaal and Myrkul, has been steadily rebuilding his power base by founding a new cult of Dark Hands and equipping them with these old enchanted items.

Visuals: The helms below have visuals for all the human-sized races (body types 1-4), both half-orcs, and body type 1 githyanki. Some tiefling face models might experience some clipping in the eyebrow area with the hoods. Half-orc face models also experience clipping issues around the lower area of the face, with severity depending on the width of the jawline.

Tactical Discipline (passive ability): You are an expert in mustering self-control to gain an edge over your foes while in combat. You gain Advantage on all Ability Checks. At 8th level, you also gain Advantage on SavingThrows.

Masked Death's Visage

Often mistaken as the Church of Bane’s unholy assassins, Masked Deaths were employed by the clergy as spies and interrogators. They embodied their dark god’s malevolence by using their opponent’s own fears against them. The ceremonial half-mask that gave them their title resembled that of a devil, an effective tool for both coercing a confession and controlling the weak-willed.

Masked Death (item property): While you wear this helm, you gain the Tactical Discipline ability and are immune to Fear effects. When you reach 5th level, you gain a +2 bonus to Intimidation checks. At 8th, you can cast ray of fear.

Dreadmaster's Helm

Bane’s Dreadmasters were the ultimate tyrants—more politician than priest or warrior. Most were powerful clerics or blackguards that occupied the upper-middle hierarchy of the church and ruled absolutely over fortified keeps or small fiefdoms. Since Bane lost a significant amount of his divine power after the Second Sundering, however, Dreadmasters had become extinct. Their ruined strongholds and unholy altars still hide some of their magical treasure—the Black Lord himself has ordered his new cult to retrieve these relics of his glory days. This tusked helmet, permanently stained by his Black Hand symbol, was one of them.

Dreadmaster (item property): While you wear this helm, you gain the Tactical Discipline ability and are immune to Fear effects. When you reach 5th level, you gain a +2 bonus to Deception checks. At 8th, you can cast paralyzing ray.

Vigilant Talon's Hood

The Vigilant Talons were the street-level inquisitors of the Church of Bane, often deployed in cities it controlled during the height of the Black Lord’s power, such as Zhentil Keep. As the Banite secret police, they relied on equipment that enhanced their powers of observation, as well as magic that subdued their suspects rather than killing them outright.

Vigilant Talon (item property): While you wear this helm, you gain the Tactical Discipline ability and are immune to Fear effects. When you reach 5th level, you gain a +2 bonus to Perception checks. At 8th, you can cast paralyzing ray.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Vestments of the Faithful is a Baldur's Gate 3 equipment mod adding deity-themed gear for 30 gods, from Bane to Waukeen, using unaltered vanilla game assets. It targets divine roleplayers, with 1,723 endorsements and 120,130 downloads. Expect clipping on tiefling/half-orc faces and missing cloth physics, since items reuse NPC models.

✨ Key Features

Adds faith-themed equipment for 30 deities, including Bane, Mystra, Shar, Selûne, and Waukeen.
Uses unaltered vanilla 3D models from Baldur's Gate 3, with minor texture fixes only.
Includes Bane relics forged between 1373 DR and 1385 DR for a lore-accurate touch.
Helm visuals support human-sized body types 1-4, both half-orcs, and githyanki body type 1.
Adds the passive ability Tactical Discipline on at least one helm.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 1,723 endorsements across 120,130 downloads — clearly a staple for divine playthroughs.
  • Covers 30 deities, from Bane to Waukeen, so almost any faith build gets gear.
  • Uses only vanilla BG3 assets, so it matches the art style and avoids custom mesh performance hits.

⚠️ Cons

  • Tiefling and half-orc faces can clip badly in the eyebrow and jaw areas — you'll see it in close-ups.
  • Some items were built for NPCs, so not every body type has a compatible visual (e.g., githyanki body type 2 is missing).
  • Missing cloth physics on several pieces means cloaks and robes can look stiff or broken until Larian patches the assets.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Baldur's Gate 3 players who run cleric, paladin, or warlock builds and want their armor to reflect their chosen deity. Lore enthusiasts will appreciate the Church of Bane relics from 1373–1385 DR. Skip if you play a tiefling or half-orc and can't tolerate facial clipping in cutscenes.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Use Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager to activate the .pak file; it prevents load order conflicts with other equipment mods.
  • If you play a tiefling or half-orc, preview the helm in the character creator before equipping it in game — clipping is most visible in cutscenes.
  • Pair with a body type 1 or 2 human-sized character for the best helm fit; githyanki body type 2 and some tiefling faces are unsupported.
