Throwing Daggers

Throwing is janky in BG3 - it requires at least three clicks per attack, the underlying mechanics don't match D&D, and modding anything related to throws is both very limited and likely to cause mod conflicts.

This mod adds throwing daggers that can be equipped as ranged weapons. They're as easy to use as any other ranged weapon, and they use normal ranged weapon attack rolls, making them more compatible with other mods and game mechanics.

Both melee and ranged versions of the daggers are available in the Tutorial Chest in common, +1 and +2 versions.

They use the existing Scalpel model but with cleaned textures that match the icon instead of the bloody material used by game.

Attacks benefit from any damage bonuses that apply to ranged weapon attacks, as well as Ring of Flinging and Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo.

Compatibility

Throwing Daggers work with spells and mechanics that use ranged weapons attacks, such as True Strike (2024) and Simple Distraction.

The passive effects Throwing Boost and Kushigo's Might are changed to also apply to ranged attacks with daggers, so could potentially conflict with other mods modifying the same effects. If so, the mod placed lower in the load order will win. Let me know if a conflict ever comes up and I can implement it in a different way, but it's too messy to do "just in case."
