Squire Evolved

Bring the Shadow Curse with you and recruit Squire the Crestfallen Hound, a powerful mini-companion.

Spoiler warning If you haven't finished act 2, stop reading. You have been warned.

Squire gains many abilities similar to Ketheric and his Apostle form, but dialed back in damage or saving throws for balance. Leans into Squire's commanding personality by giving her the ability to conjure and control undead found in the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

After Squire smells Isobel's blessing on you and decides not to join Ketheric in the final battle, during that battle, the game replaces her dialog named "KethericHound" to "CrestfallenHound". I found that wholesome and wanted to expand that side of the story. Because of this and to match Ketheric's abilities, her class revolves around Oathbreaker.

Receiving The Spell

The following conditions must be met in order for Squire to become recruitable:

• []Get Isobel's blessing (yes, that means you'll need to defend Isobel at Last Light).

  []Speak to Squire at Moonrise and have her smell the blessing on you.

  []Successfully pass the roll that "tames" her.

  []Defeat Ketheric.

After that, she'll appear in the act 2 finale at Moonrise close to where Isobel and Aylin reunite.

If Isobel is alive and the player agrees to have her join the camp, speaking to Squire will require no roll:

"Isobel will be staying at my camp. It seems she's your only master now, and I need allies. It would be an honour if you joined us."

You then get an option to show her where your camp is, the dialog ends, she runs out of Moonrise and you receive her collar that grants the holder the spell to summon her.

If Isobel isn't joining camp or if she's not at the finale, the player will need to roll persuasion 18 or higher to convince her to join. Clerics or Paladins of Selûne have advantage.

If you add this mod after the act 2 finale, you can find her in the following places in act 3:

• []Rivington - In Father Lorgan's basement. She'll be sleeping on a carpet next to some bookshelves.

  []Lower City - In the Stormshore Tabernacle basement. She'll be sitting next to a desk.

  She only appears in act 3 if the conditions to recruit her were met.

  Several of Squire's actions are on some form of cooldown, while the more powerful ones require using a Channel Oath charge.
