Player Portrait Icon Grabber - Giant Hotbar Portrait UI Edit

Made for Patch 8 - Hotfix 32, "working" for Patch 8 - Hotfix 35, but this is not meant for normal gameplay!

Might "work" for other patches, depending on your definition of "working." If it looks broken, don't worry, it's supposed to. As long as it lets you get good screenshots of the player portraits, you're good to go.

The worst UI edit ever becomes a pretty helpful resource.

Scales up the hotbar player portrait, and moves it outside the player portrait border, so you can easily screenshot the whole thing.

Useful for generating icons for custom NPCs/companions. Useful for grabbing your beloved Tav and/or Durge characters' player portraits. Terrible for gameplay, but you can still use it for that if you'd like to suffer. (... Or maybe not suffer! Maybe you want to have massive images of your characters haunting the screen at all times. If that's the case, this mod is for you, too.)

I originally made this so I could grab the portrait the game generated for my custom companion character, Jason, so his starting icon would match his level-up icons. And now you can have it, too!

How To Use:

Drag the Mods folder in the .zip file into your BG3 Data folder, which can usually be found here: \\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\

If you get a popup asking you to replace the file, DON'T replace it! This means you already had an edit to the Hotbar UI installed. Move the existing HotBar.xaml file you had installed to a safe location, and then install this edit.

The UI should update automatically.

Take screenshots of the player portraits as you'd like. When you're done, uninstall the mod by deleting the HotBar.xaml file from the following file path in your Data folder: \\Mods\MainUI\GUI\Pages\HotBar.xaml

The edit can be safely installed and uninstalled at any point, and can even be added and removed while the game is open! (If you add or remove the file while a save is loaded, you might need to reload your save for the changes to take effect.)

While the mod is not intended for regular gameplay, it's mainly because the edit is awful to look at, and is only meant for getting clean screenshots of the player portraits. It won't be able to affect anything in your save itself, and removing the file will immediately revert all changes made to the UI.

Compatibility:

This mod edits the Hotbar UI .xaml file, which can be found in this file path: \\Mods\MainUI\GUI\Pages\HotBar.xaml

It'll be incompatible with all other mods that edit
