📋 About This Mod
Revisit the campaign as a higher level character. The world is more dangerous, with scaled difficulty and additional enemies & items. This must be used with the "Expansion with Bladesinger" mod
New Game Plus (NGP) provides a refreshed campaign experience, starting the player at a high level, scaled difficulty, additional enemies & items, and anti-exploit features. NGP requires the Script Extender (SE) to function.
NGP implements hundreds of new NPCs based on many dozens of unique character templates, most with lore-appropriate names and abilities. Combat encounters have been modified in various ways, some with additional/harder enemies of similar type, and others with new NPCs that use abilities not frequently seen in the base game. As of version 1. 05, there are two new dungeons to explore. This is strictly combat focused with no changes to the story.
Version 1. 08 is out! This is a minor update to fix some issues with the "item swap" functionality (if toggled on in MCM, certain stock items will be swapped out for upgraded versions of the same item, for example, the Everburn Blade). This patch also applies a non-combat debuff for dialog skill checks to compensate for the higher base level.
This is intended to be somewhat harder than Honour Mode. It is for players that are comfortable with the combat mechanics and want a new challenge. The tutorial (Nautiloid) is not intended to be difficult. All three acts should be challenging, especially for the first playthrough. The finale (High Hall) is intended to be challenging for a full party of level 20 characters.
For detailed changes, see the articles section.
I would recommend setting camp supply costs to maximum and using the Honor Ruleset.
I've done my testing with the following order:
-
[]Expansion[/]
[]Safe Travel (see note below)[/]
[]NGP Part A ("NewGamePlus")[/]
[]NGP Part B[/]
Other Mod Recommendations
-
[]Brawl: This allows enemies to take their turns at the same time. NGP utilizes Larian's built-in swarm engine to group enemies but Brawl greatly expands this functionality. This dramatically speeds up combat with large groups of enemies. I would recommend the "Swarm" variant of Brawl. The "real time" version has balance implications that I have not tested. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/12614[/]
[]5e Spells: This provides additional spells from D&D 5e and includes spells up to level 9. NPCs in NGP will not use these spells, so it will make the campaign somewhat easier. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/125[/]
[]Advanced TT Spells: Also provides additional spells. Can be combined with 5e Spells. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/14429[/]
[]Combat Extender: This allows fine-tuned customization of enemy scaling, including extra abilities and action points. Use it if you think NGP is too easy. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5207[/]
