The goal is not to add random color variations, but palettes that feel grounded in the world and work naturally with Baldur’s Gate 3 lighting, materials, and armor design. Each dyeset is created to enhance existing equipment rather than replace its identity, allowing armor and clothing to remain believable within the game’s aesthetic.

ideas shared by players

and are later refined into additions that become part of the public collection for everyone.

When creating dyes, the focus is always on how colors behave across different materials. Cloth, leather and metal react differently under BG3 lighting, so palettes are designed to improve readability, contrast, and visual cohesion rather than simply recolor equipment.

Some dyes work better on robes, others on heavier armor or mixed sets. The intention is to expand roleplay possibilities while keeping visual consistency with the world of Faerûn.
