📋 About This Mod

A homebrew class mod featuring 5 Subclasses and 3 Gun Types: Revolvers, Hand Mortars and Arcane Rifles. Each gun type has a base weapon with a common and uncommon variant, and there is also a total of 16 unique lootable guns scattered

LEVELS 13 to 20 OFFICIALLY OUT! But will probably be buggy because I barely tested it out.

This is my first mod so please be nice >_< and also PLEASE report any bugs! I expect there to definitely be quite a few that I missed since I have not gotten around to a full playtesting campaign and only done preliminary testings.

Gunslingers use Dexterity as their main Attribute, with Charisma as their Spellcasting/Secondary Attribute.

Guns have Ammo, and you must Reload (Bonus Action) to restore your Ammo resources while in combat. Revolvers hold 6 Rounds, Hand Mortars have 2, while Arcane Rifles only have 1.

Full information on Class Progression and exact locations of the unique weapons are in the document below:

This mod aims to be a "what if" for adding guns into the world of Baldur's Gate 3 without breaking immersion too much with overpowered abilities or jarring aesthetics that seem out of place. Of course, the mere existence of guns is in and of itself quite unbelievable for a medieval fantasy setting, but I try my best to make it seem like it can belong, with slight fantasy logic coming into play with how these guns even work, and opting for more old-school, mechanically exposed or steampunk-y guns, and less of sleek black modern designs or rocket launchers.

  • []This subclass specialises in accuracy, consistency, and targeted lethality. You can play it with any gun type, but it was designed with Arcane Rifles in mind, with features that let you shred temporary hit points, bypass resistances and hunt down hard-to-hit targets.[/]

    []Difficulty: Medium (3)[/]

  • []This subclass revels in bloodshed, building up momentum to unleash a ravenous burst of damage. Marauders’ attacks apply Marked for Death, executing enemies below its threshold, stacking the more you attack the same target, with tools to attack targets in an endless frenzy using your Reactions. Marauders are designed to synergise with dual wielding, but its essentially Ammoless playstyle allows you to viably abuse Arcane Rifles as well.[/]

    []Difficulty: Easy (1)[/]

  • []This subclass could be considered more of a spellcaster, in that prioritising Charisma might be more fruitful. Mavericks gain a special reaction that can turn any attack into a 50/50 coin-flip between Critically Hitting or Critically Missing, with corresponding payouts and consequences for landing either result. They also benefit from hoarding an arsenal of weapons, as you can swap weapons with a Bonus Action to make the most out of unique weapon actions. Mavericks also gain bonus passive effects for Critical Hits and Misses, depending on the weapon they wield.[/]

    []Difficulty: Hard (5)[/]

  • []This subclass encourages mixing in melee attacks with ranged attacks. Designed with the Hand Mortar in mind, it gains a special action only usable with a Hand Mortar, but Pirates can also make good use out of Revolvers, with certain effects only triggering off of Piercing damage, rather than Bludgeoning. Pirates specialise in causing multiple instances of collateral damage, applying Burns and Bleeds and exploding enemies by igniting Gunpowder when making melee attacks.[/]

    []Difficulty: Medium (4)[/]

  • []This subclass revolves (heh) entirely around Revolvers, with the ability to fire off multiple rounds at one go. Mark enemies as Wanted, making them take additional Radiant damage per hit, and take upon Ethoses, which vaguely define your playstyle as you unlock special bullets and conditional passives.[/]

    []Difficulty: Easy (2)[/]

No AI was used in the creation of this mod. All 2D assets are drawn by me or taken from pre-existing game icons. Ricochet, Reactive Shot and Ballistic Shot are references to icons for spells of the same name from Divinity: Original Sin 2. Cannon Barrage icon and name is also a reference to Gangplank's ultimate abililty of the same name from League of Legends.
