Dark Urge Bhaalspawn Lineage

Unlock the power of your Bhaalspawn Lineage as the Dark Urge! This roleplay and gameplay mod, inspired by Baldur's Gate 1's Bhaalspawn Abilities, adds a Bloodlust mechanic that interacts with Dark Urge's unique dialogue choices along with a series of unlockable Dark Powers as you level up in your journey as a Bhaalspawn.

This mod was inspired by Baldur's Gate 1's protagonist's Bhaalspawn journey, as he unlocks Dark Powers from his heritage after having dreams. The Dark Powers unlocked are modeled after the same ones Baldur's Gate 1's protagonist gets as Bhaalspawn Abilities.

This mod is now compatible with existing saves too! You can install it at any point.

It starts with murder and a dark ritual...

After murdering Alfira (or the Dragonborn Bard that takes her place), the Dark Urge senses something dark and sinister fester within him. A frightening yet somehow familiar power awakens.

Following the completion of the aforementioned scene, the Dark Urge's dormant dark power will start to awaken. The next time you start combat, this Dark Power will fully manifest. Tapping into this dark energy, you gain new abilities.

The first Dark Power, Life Drain (a completely new Necromancy spell inspired by a Baldur's Gate 1 Bhaalspawn ability), will unlock immediately when the Dark Power manifests. Note: to unlock this power you need to have my Life Drain Spell mod; if you don't have it you won't get this power but the rest will still work. The damage of this dark power (and all other damaging dark powers) will increase at levels 6, 11 and 16.

A higher authority takes notice of you and the darkness within you...

An overwhelming and sinister thirst for bloodshed and carnage compels you to... No, DEMANDS violence. You feel weakened and ill if you don't quench this thirst... This... COMMANDMENT.

The Dark Urge's curse is always looking to steer you towards violence. After your first-ever Long Rest and after each Long Rest from that point on, you will gain the ''Bloodlust'' condition. This condition gives you +1 to Intimidation and Deception checks, +2 to Charisma Saving Throws, -2 to Persuasion and Insight checks and -2 to Constitution Saving Throws. If you satiate the bloodlust, the condition will be removed (until you Long Rest again or each time you resist the Dark Urge). This mechanic doesn't require your Dark Power to have awakened, it will always haunt the Dark Urge character from the beginning of the game.
