College of Dueling

The Duelist's rose. A curriculum of violence. Every action is deliberate, elegant, and deadly. Your duels are yet another symphony.

While Ebberon's College of Wands was distinctly in mind when designing it, this is far enough from rules text from the Ebberon College of Wands that this may not be satisfying to someone expecting it to play identically. Like the Ebberon subclass, it encourages using your cantrips and inspiration for damage. Depending on your other spell and item selections, this can make it a primary blaster or a consistent damage dealer with plenty of utility in their back pocket.

I may consider a faithful adaptation of the College of Wands later on if there's enough interest in it.

This subclass has not been extensively balanced yet. Future updates may tweak numerical values as needed (Feedback welcome)

Subclass Features (Mechanical)

Level 3:

• []Gain medium armor proficiency.

  []Gain Shields proficiency

  []Gain a toggle to increase the casting cost of cantrips to include a Bardic Inspiration die, in exchange for additional level scaling damage.

  []+3 initiative.

  []Learn 2 Harmful Single Target spell (non-weapon) Cantrips

• []After casting a cantrip, you can use your bonus action to give a nearby ally +2AC and +2 to saving throws for 2 rounds.
  • []After casting a cantrip, you can use your bonus action to make a weapon attack.
    • []Learn 1 additional Magical secret (cantrip or spell level 1-6)

      []Learn 2 additional Harmful Single Target spell (non-weapon) Cantrips.

      Level 14 (Requires a level cap modifying mod):

      • []On the first round of combat, your cantrips gain 1 additional projectile. You are not required to target the same target with it.
