📋 About This Mod
Your one-stop-shop for Sorcerer subclasses has arrived! Features the Aberrant Mind, Clockwork Soul, Divine Soul, and Lunar Sorcery subclasses.
Thanks to Sumradagnoth for the amazing work on the subclass icons!
Real quick, before we get to the mod: if you like what I do, consider donating as a show of support. It helps me keep making mods, which means it helps you keep getting mods to start new runs with (again, and again, and again)
The third installment of my "Book of Subclasses" series has arrived: Sorcerers! As with most of my mods, I have had to make some changes from the source material, just due to how the game functions in some respects. And, as we all know, the Sorcerer level progression is kind of rough when it comes to subclass features past level 6 (which is likely why Larian bumped down level 14 features to level 11 for BG3). To make this slightly more interesting to play through to level 20, I opted to add in small features at level 14, where the level 11 features would have been. Nothing major, but something to make the progression a little more worth it. Without further ado, the Book of Sorcerers!
Telepathic Presence for the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer takes the place of the Telepathic Speech feature from the tabletop version of the game. I wanted to make something a little more situational for this feature but that still fit with the subclass overall.
Level 1 is also where we introduce spell lists for these subclasses! Lunar Sorcery is greedy, and so it needs its own table.
Requires Mystra's Spells
Note 1: The Divine Soul Sorcerer does not get a list of additional spells: instead, they learn additional spells from the Cleric spell list whenever they gain a Sorcerer spell, likewise with cantrips. These Cleric spells can be replaced at levels where you would gain a Feat.
Tabletop players may notice some difference between these spell lists and the ones from 5e. Some spells just don't exist in BG3, and I wasn't about to go making them all. The only exception is Synaptic Sliver, which is just Mind Sliver from 5e, which I renamed here to avoid confusion with other mods that add this cantrip.
Lunar Boons works a little differently with Twinned Spell because of how sorcery points get calculated for the cost. So, I decided to have fun with it and allow you to target one additional creature when you use Lunar Boons. I may change this in the future if I can figure out an acceptable way to make it work as initially intended.
To implement Lunar Boons properly, I had to override the Metamagic abilities to add hidden checks, so this mod will be incompatible with others that also modify Metamagic directly.
Some of these features (specifically Revelation in Flesh and Otherworldly Wings) needed some slight adjustments to make them fit the context of BG3 better, but apart from that, this level is pretty well rules-as-written.
