Baldur's Gate 3 Script Extender (BG3SE)

For people that just want to press one button and have everything correctly asigned.

Installation

Vortex

Vortex will auto-detect the mod type so you only need to download the mod and it'll auto-install to the appropriate place.

In case this did not happen:

• []In Vortex go to mods and double click on "Baldur's Gate 3 Script Extender[/]

  []A side panel will open, scroll down to "Mod Type" and change it to "BG3 BG3SE"[/]

  Manually

  • []Download the latest version from Nexus;[/]

    []Extract DWrite.dll to the bin folder of your BG3 installation (eg. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin).[/]

    FAQ

    How do I enable achievements?

    Achievements are enabled automatically, there is no need to manually edit configuration files to achieve this!

    (In particular, the "EnableAchievements" config variable defaults to true; setting it in ScriptExtenderSettings.json does nothing)

    How do I open the console?

    Press Ctrl+F12 while the game window is in focus.

    If you want to permanently enable the console, change the "CreateConsole" variable to true in ScriptExtenderSettings.json)

    Script Extender isn't updating to the latest version

    Script Extender versions always target a specific game build; an SE version built for Patch 8 won't work with Patch 7 (and vice versa).

    If your SE is stuck at an old version, you probably have an old BG3 that doesn't support newer Script Extenders.

    Do I need to use the Vulkan or DX11 version of the game?

    Script Extender works with both versions. If you're using SE-based UI mods that don't work, you can try switching between Vulkan/DX11 to see if it resolves the issue.
