Your Dog Is My Dog

Made for Patch 6 - Hotfix 25, Working with Patch 8

Hi, I, got a new dog recently, and she's the sweetest little thing (like genuinely gets so happy to see me she gets the zoomies 🥺💗🥺 Her name is Tully!!) But it's, also been making me miss my dog Bailey, who passed two years ago.

This is a little tribute to her! It swaps Scratch's VisualTemplate with one that looks a bit more like her (it's actually the same one as the dog Gustav in Act 3 which, I think was based on Swen Vincke's dog? Aw...)

This is another submission to the BG3 July Modathon, for the friendship category. I suppose I could add this for the loss theme too, but the thought of doing so makes my heart ache a bit, so I won't.

Instead, I leave you with her memory.

She was a blue heeler mix and a rescue. She was so shy and anxious at first, but time and being in a safe house did her a lot of good. She liked to cross her paws in this very polite way, like a little Victorian lady at a tea party. She was very good about not eating things she wasn't supposed to—with the exception of pasta. She was obsessed with it I have no idea why. All other food could be left on the table without her trying to steal it, but you had to guard your spaghetti with your life.

She was very loved.

... And now she can be in your game, too. Your dog is my dog, now.

Compatiblity: This mod will conflict with anything that overrides Scratch's VisualTemplate, as well as the Dog_Body_A CharacterVisual template, which Scratch uses when you summon him, and the character portrait icons for him. It doesn't seem like Dog_Body_A is used for many dogs besides Scratch—almost all of them are given their own CharacterVisuals. It might be used by two other dogs, but I don't remember actually seeing them in the game? Hm. Let me know if the visuals show up where they're not supposed to, though! The mod doesn't override anything else. Gustav, the dog I borrowed the VisualTemplate from for this mod, was left unchanged!

Future plans: I'd like to edit the textures I used to make the markings a bit more like hers; the ones from the VisualTemplate I used are really similar, but I'd like more of a resemblance eventually. I'd also like to give her a new collar based on the one she had irl; it had peacock feathers!!! I'd like the tag to still glow, though, and the thought of doing a VirtualTexture for her right now was a wee bit daunting 😅 So, that'll be added later.
