📋 About This Mod
Hi all. This is my first mod on Nexus and for BG3. It's just a simple one I made while testing out the modkit and also for personal use (vanilla just didn't have a really really light silver for my Silver-born lol so I made one, then decided to do the other subraces cause why not?).
This mod aims to add more color choices to Dragonborn. They are not replacers, and will add onto the existing array of vanilla colors.
Also, please note that these added colors are subject to change. I'm no color theorist, but as I update the mod I may find that previous additions could use some retroactive tweaking.
Planned Features:
-
[]More 'Flame' eye colors
[
]More Draconic Bloodline colors[]Provide each vanilla DGB subrace with at least 20 (total) colors
[]Add a red-accented, 'Durge-like' swatch for every DGB subrace, sans White since it already has it.
- Support for Dragonborn mods that add more subraces. (Such as Dragonborn Enhanced and DMM.)
So, each color is named to make it easier to identify internally, but in-game they are displayed being the number in parentheses here. For example, Lily Pad is the internal name of the material preset, or swatch, but in the game it appears as 'Black 16' like vanilla colors. If hypothetically you had another mod that adds another Black 16, it shouldn't cause problems(?) but you'd then have two Black 16s. I will eventually add a version of the mod that changes the numbers to the actual names of the in-games colors instead so this doesn't happen.
TLDR; this mod should be compatible with other color mods. I'd be surprised if it didn't but ofc please let me know if not! I haven't personally tested my mod with other color mods, so I would like to know through feedback on what does and doesn't work.
Here's the latest list of colors:
Lily Pad (16) - Pink-tinged, Black skin with dark Pink and Green accents.
Toad (17) - Black and Yellow-Green skin with Black and Yellow accents.
Oasis (18) - Blue scales and sandy Beige skin. No accents.
Dry River (19) - Beige skin and deep Blue scales with Beige and Black accents.
Gunmetal (13) - Deep, golden Brass with Red accents.
Jade (14) - Green skin and Gold-tinged Brass scales with Yellow accents.
Restless Sea (13) - Golden-yellow and dark Teal skin with dark Blue and teal accents.
Brine Pool (14) - Pale skin and light
A simple color addition mod for Dragonborn characters, adding two new non-replacer color swatches for each Dragonborn subrace. With 81 endorsements and 64,892 downloads, it's a niche but popular choice for players wanting more customization options.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (64,892 downloads, 81 endorsements) shows it's used but not heavily praised
- Non-replacer colors mean no risk of overwriting vanilla options
- Lightweight and straightforward—just adds swatches, no complex systems
⚠️ Cons
- Only two new colors per subrace—might not be enough for players wanting extensive variety
- No screenshots or detailed previews in the description, so you can't see the colors before installing
- Last updated September 2024—could be outdated if the game has received patches since then
For Dragonborn players who want a bit more color variety without overhauling their character creation. If you're a completionist who wants every possible shade, this is a quick add. Skip if you're looking for major customization overhauls—this is purely a small color pack.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a non-replacer mod, you can safely uninstall it without affecting your existing characters' colors.
- Check the mod page for any screenshots or user images to see the new colors before downloading.
- If you use a mod manager, install it like any other mod; if manual, just drop the files into your Data folder.
