XML TRANSLATOR

XML Translator is a standalone Python tool designed to automatically translate XML files from Baldur’s Gate 3 mods.

It uses the power of Google Translate (via deep-translator) to process and convert text efficiently, supporting batch translation of multiple XML files at once.

• []Batch Translation: Automatically detects and translates all XML files inside a selected folder (including subfolders).

  []Automatic Language Detection: Detects the source language or allows you to manually select it.

  []Smart Tag Protection: Preserves XML tags and Baldur’s Gate 3 LSTag formatting during translation.

  []Optimized Performance: Uses caching and text grouping to minimize redundant translations and speed up the process.

  []Clean Output: Translated files are saved in a new folder named "Translated"  created in the same directory as the original files.

  []User-Friendly Interface: Built with a simple and clear graphical interface using Tkinter.

  Requirements:

  Tool: Baldur's Gate 3 Modder's Multitool

  Before running the script, make sure you have Python 3. 8+ installed and install the required package:

  pip install deep-translator

  How to Use:

  • []Run the script XML_Translator.py

    []In the interface:

    []Click "Browse Folder" and select a folder containing XML files.

    []Choose your source and target languages.

    []Click "Start Translation".

    []Wait until the progress bar reaches 100%.

    []Your translated XML files will appear in a subfolder called Translated.

    • []The tool relies on Google Translate API calls through deep-translator, so it requires an active internet connection.

      []For performance reasons, repeated texts are cached during translation.

      []Designed primarily for Baldur’s Gate 3 mod localization.
