Way of the Sohei Monk Subclass

The Sohei is a warrior monk who blends martial prowess with spiritual discipline, mastering polearms with unparalleled precision. They channel their inner ki to infuse their strikes with radiant energy, cutting through both physical and magical defenses while enduring the trials of battle with unwavering resolve. At their peak, Sohei can invoke divine rites to empower their weapons with holy light, blinding their enemies and fortifying their minds against fear and deception.

Level 3:

Polearm Dextrous Attacks: Gain proficiency with Glaives, Halberds, and Pikes. Additionally, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls with these weapons. (At level 3, you'll unlock a spell called Polearm Dextrous attacks. It's a free action to use, and it will modify your polearm so that it uses Dexterity instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls.)

Sohei's Focus: As a bonus action, you can enter a state of heightened focus for 10 rounds. During this time, you gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls with ranged and melee weapons, and your movement speed increases by 3 meters. You can use this ability 2 times and regain all expended uses after completing a long rest. At Monk Level 5, you can use this ability 3 times, and at Monk Level 9, you can use this ability 4 times.

Level 6:

Ki-Empowered Weaponry: You can spend 1 Ki Point and a bonus action to imbue your weapon attacks with spiritual energy. For the duration of 10 rounds, your ranged and melee weapon attacks are considered magical and deal an additional 1d4 radiant damage.

Warrior's Resolve: As a reaction when you take damage from a melee attack, you can spend 1 Ki Point to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your Wisdom modifier + your Monk Level. This represents your ability to endure pain and remain focused in battle.

Level 11:

Divine Strike: You can cause your ranged or melee weapon attacks to deal an additional 4d8 damage and potentially blind your target for two turns. You can use this feature three times per long rest.

Unyielding Mind: You gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, reflecting your spiritual discipline.
