Updated Dragonborn Breath Weapon - DnD 5.5e - 2024 PHB

I was looking for a mod that updates the otherwise not-so-useful "Breath Weapon" feature of the dragonborn and i found the Improved Dragonborn Breath Weapon mod. Unfortunately that mod is broken, so i made my own.

Breath Weapon

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in either a 15-foot Cone or a 30-foot Line that is 5 feet wide (choose the shape each time). Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 plus your Constitution modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, a creature takes 1d10 damage of the type determined by your Draconic Ancestry trait. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach character levels 5 (2d10), 11 (3d10), and 17 (4d10). You can use this Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

IMPLEMENTATION: Rules as written expect you can't choose the shape each time (the shapes are fixed as in the vanilla game) and you don't get 4d10 at level 17 (because the game ignores level map value over level 12).

I highly recommend installing mods using the Mod Manager. Put my mod below the expansion mod (if installed), below Extra Attack Fix SE and above the compatibility framework.

You should be able to install this mod mid save, but if you see no changes when you load the save the first time after installing try to rest or respec at Withers.
