📋 About This Mod
Adds a new effect to the "bonus unarmed strike" passive that monks receive at level 1: You can make unarmed attacks even when having a monk weapon equipped.
This unarmed attack is the regular unarmed attack you also have when you aren't wield a weapon. It will appear in your spells (middle hotbar) not where it would usually appear, because of the way you receive it. As long as you don't unequip your weapon or swap to one that doesn't qualify as monk weapon (two-handed or not proficient with) it shouldn't move on your hotbar and you can just move it where you want. Swapping from one monk weapon to another doesn't move the ability on the hotbar.
This is only for monks. There is another mod that adds it to all characters. This versions means you don't have to bother with the ability on your hotbar on other classes, while your monk, who might want to use a staff that gives them spells or other bonuses (looking at Corellon's Grace), can use them without losing unarmed bonuses on their action.
There is also a new interrupt - unarmed attack of opportunity. By default it is set to "ask" causing you to be able to choose between regular attack of opportunity and the unarmed version. If you always want the unarmed version:
-
[]Disable the regular attack of opportunity reaction
[
]Uncheck "Ask" for the unarmed attack of opportunity reactionCompatibility Notes
The mod overwrites the regular unarmed attack in minor ways (Sheathing, Sound) so it feels like it should. This can naturally cause compatiblity issues with mods that do similar, though very few mods should touch that ability.
This Baldur's Gate 3 mod lets monks use unarmed attacks while wielding monk weapons, including unarmed opportunity attacks with a weapon equipped. It's a small utility mod with 115 endorsements and 4,575 downloads, last updated in May 2025.
