📋 About This Mod
Do you enjoy dominating the minds of others? Have you ever wanted to scorch your foes with hellfire? Are sexy fiends your style? Then you should try The Sorcubus Class!
The Sorcubus was envisioned as a Sorcerer subclass, but due to the unique mechanics, it had to be implemented as a domclass--I mean, base class which just happens to resemble the Sorcerer (if you kinda squint a little.) While not the first class mod for BG3 intended to convey the fantasy of playing a succubus/incubus, the Sorcubus is unique in its presentation and mechanics. Rather than introducing complex new systems, or trying to craft an entirely new playstyle, the Sorcubus plays like a Sorcerer, with heavy "sexy-fiend" influences. My goal was to make the Sorcubus blend effortlessly into the base game, not to feel like you're playing a different game, entirely.
That being said, the Sorcubus does have its share of unique quirks. The class was inspired by the "Set List Spontaneous Caster" classes of 3rd Edition, namely the Warmage, Beguiler, and Dread Necromancer. Unlike a normal Sorcerer, you do not choose your known spells when you level up, instead you are given full access to a curated list of spells based on the class theme. This means you will have more spells known than any normal Sorcerer, but your spells all fall within a very specific niche. This paradoxically gives the most spells to choose from of any class, but simultaneously the least versatility.
---The Sorcubus Spell List---
All Sorcubus spells known fall into one of three categories:
-
[]Mind-affecting control or debuff spells that aren't psionics-flavored.
[
]Fire-based, non-melee, offensive spells that aren't summons. - Spells that emulate classic succubus/incubus abilities from current and past editions (Life-drain, teleportation, invisibility, calling fiendish allies, shapeshifting, telepathy, ethereal travel).
This mod introduces a few spells, but it also supports the "Mystra's Spells" mod on Mod.io, as well as the '5E Spells" mod from the Nexus. If you have a mod to increase the level cap, the Sorcubus also integrates the "Advanced Tabletop Spells" mod, also found on the Nexus, and is fully playable up to level 20.
A note on compatibility: Some spells from the "5E Spells" mod will conflict with those from "Mystra's Spells". Whichever mod is lower in your load order will win such conflicts. "5E Spells" also duplicates certain spells from both "Mystra's Spells" and "Advanced Tabletop Spells", and in such cases, both versions of the spell will appear on your spell list. I will indicate which spells these conditions apply to in the list, below. In addition, there is an unfinished version of the spell "Alter Self" in the base game, which has been added to the Sorcubus spell list in order to support the "5E Spells" version. If you don't use 5E spells, you can ju
