📋 About This Mod

Ahoy there! My little interest over these past few months has been "interesting martials". Enter somanyrobots' Swashbuckler, a stylish combatant based around performing daring deeds in combat, building up Panache, and using them to outmaneuvre and outwit their enemies. I thought it was pretty cool! And I'm happy to now attempt to bring it over to BG3. This one has a few mechanics that are tricky to translate, so feel free to tell me if you run into any issues.

Obviously the Swashbuckler Rogue exists, and it's pretty good at what it is. But it is, in the end, always a Rogue; it's fun to see what can be done when we give a Swashbuckler the conceptual breathing room of a full class. As it turns out, you can go quite far! The Swashbuckler has the following 7 subclasses based on the (much looser than a Paladin's) Code they follow:

  • []Duelists fight one-on-one and swagger with confidence. They dance around their chosen target, provoking them into attacks and missteps.

[]Blooded Swashbucklers have been touched by a vampire. They use its curse to become supernaturally dextrous fighters... and occasionally burst into the odd Blood Frenzy.

[]Graceful Fists mix armed and unarmed combat, attacking with the rapier one moment and kicking at a foe's opening the next.

[]Inquisitors put their Swashbuckling charms to service of the divine, and are rewarded with both a dab of Cleric magic and radiant smites.

[]Ruffians are a rough-and-tumble sort, trading out elegance for brute force. But it makes for a fine show nonetheless.

[]Scoundrels are never one to fight alone, directing, supporting and manipulating their allies in a fight.

[]Tricksters mix sword with illusion and enchantment, keeping their foes on unsure footings.

If you like any of my mods and want to show some extra support, I've set up a tip jar here:

Mod Compatibility

  • []Spells: The Swashbuckler has built-in support for Mystra's Spells and some 5e Spells. I'll add support for a few more spell add-ons when I get the chance, although this is only really relevant to the two third-caster subclasses.

[]Grapples: Ruffian Swashbucklers should gain some Panache upon grappling people, if you've got a mod that adds it (such as Kekyll's old Grappling Framework).

[]Firearms: Swashbucklers have Slings proficiency, which is used in a few firearm mods as a substitute for a proper Firearm proficiency.

    Features by level

    []HP per Level: 5

[]Proficiencies: Light Armour, Simple Weapons, Martial Weapons, Slings, Musical Instruments

    []Proficiencies (Multiclass): Light Armour, Slings

    []Starting Saves: Dexterity, Charisma
