📋 About This Mod
Clears the controller radials (or action bars in the KB/M UI) for new characters
Start With Empty Radials
Clears all radial menus when starting a game, respeccing to level 1, or on characters newly recruited to the party. By default, the game will put most spells and passive toggles on the radial menus when a character first is created (or respecced or recruited). This can be especially annoying when playing with a large number of mods that add niche utility spells to help fix issues with the mod itself or passive abilities that you don't expect to toggle off very frequently. StartWithEmptyRadials ensures each character starts with a clean slate with all radials being completely empty of any abilities. Combined with Lock Radials On Level Up, this gives you much more control over the layout of your abilities on the radial menus.
There might be a brief window where you can see the abilities on the radials before they get cleared. I haven't figured out whether this is possible to avoid, but as long as the abilities clear within a second or two from when you first look at the radial menus for a given character (or after a respect), the mod is working.
Using with action bars (i.e. without a controller)
When playing the game with a controller, the UI uses a set of radial menus in place of the default set of action bars with spells, abilities, items, passive toggles, etc. From the standpoint of the Script Extender API, there doesn't seem to be any difference between the two UIs in terms of how the state is tracked, so these mods _should_ theoretically work with the default action bar UI as well. Because I mostly play on my Steam Deck, I don't plan on extensively testing them with anything other the radial menus. (Personally, I also don't find the automatic management of abilities on the default UI as annoying as it is with the radial menus, so I don't expect it to be a super common use case of the mods for anyone else either). That said, feel free to try them out with the default UI if that seems appealing to you.
