softer hair and beards

UPDATE: mods works on patch 8, just put the .pak file in your mod folder or use bg3 mod manager and then activate it in the in-game mod manager, disabling the mod still doesnt work.

modified the textures of the hair and beards to make them look softer. it applies to everyone in the game from tav to companions to bosses and npcs. it also applies to some modded hairs since some of them use vanilla textures.

a test file is available for download to see which hairs and beards are effected by this mod (this is for testing only DO NOT use with the main file)

style and color of the hairs or beards were not modified.

mod is not compatible with any other mod that modifies textures of hairs and beards

mod is 100% compatible with modded hairs, softer look may apply to some of them or may not (hence the test file)

3 things i did to the textures

-cast enlarge on the texture canvas (from vanilla 2k to now 4k)

-cast duplicity on hair strands (doubled the hair strands)

-cast invisibility on hair strands (decreaced the opacity of hair strands by 50%)

if hair strands look floaty try different antialiasing method or nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR

if you are playing with nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR set to any performance presets hair will look extra fuzzy, thats how those handle transparency i cant fix that, sorry

due to decreased opacity of textures, shadows casted by the hair are a bit flickery and shimmery, its more noticeable in character creation.

install with BG3 mod manager

load order dont matter

DISABLING the mod DOES NOT work

FULLY DELETE the mod if you want to do comparison

it should be safe to remove the mod mid playthrough since its just a texture replacer
