REL Ancient AMP Mix

A small compatibility patch that fixes the starting dead mindflayer loot when using REL Ancient(Busted) together with the Ancient Mega Pack (REL_Full_Ancient).

Why this patch exists

Without this patch, the dead mindflayer at the very start of the game (next to your downed character on the Nautiloid beach in Tutorial / Avernus C) drops only vanilla MAG_ magic items, because Busted's TreasureTable.txt overrides Mega Pack's tables and narrows them to vanilla-only references. With this patch loaded after Busted, the dead mindflayer drops 12-14 rare-to-epic items mixed from the AMP_ Ancient pack and vanilla MAG_ magic items.

What it changes

• []Adds a level override for the dead mindflayer in TUT_Avernus_C with a new Treasures list (Weapons / Clothes / Armor / Hats / Cloaks / Gloves / Boots / Amulets / Rings, rare-epic tier).[/]

  []Restores 40 REL_<tier>_<slot> treasure tables to Mega Pack's AMP+MAG mixed content, so the references in step 1 actually pull Ancient items, not vanilla-only.[/]

• []Ancient Mega Pack (REL_Full_Ancient, by Paramonov95) — REQUIRED. Defines the I_AMP_ items this patch references. Without it, the new tables resolve to nothing.[/]

  []REL Ancient (Busted) — REQUIRED. This patch exists to fix Busted's narrowing of Mega Pack's loot tables. If you don't use Busted, you don't need this patch — Mega Pack alone already gives you Ancient items.[/]

  Load order

  The patch must load after REL Ancient(Busted) so its TreasureTable.txt overrides Busted's:

  Ancient Mega Pack → ... → REL Ancient(Busted) → REL Ancient AMP Mix

  BG3MM will normally place it correctly if you drag it to the bottom of the load order.

  Installation

  • []Download the zip from the Files tab.[/]

    []Drag it into BG3MM (Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager). The zip contains info.json so BG3MM will pick it up as a proper mod entry.[/]

    []Make sure load order is: Mega Pack → Busted → AMP Mix (this mod).[/]

    []Launch the game.[/]

  You must start a new game. Level data is baked when the level first loads, so the dead mindflayer's loot is fixed at first entry into Tutorial. Existing saves that have already loaded TUT_Avernus_C will not see the change.
