📋 About This Mod
Want to play a 1 handed Swordsman that don't use shields but feels like is shooting itself in the foot? Would it not be better to just dual wield/use a shield?
This adds a new fighting style called Quick Hands, which enables a main-hand attack as a bonus action. This requires a empty offhand to be used so you can't use it with a shield.
It should be balanced(ish)? since it is the "same" as dual wielding, tough you need only one good weapon, don't need it to be light, and as of now, since the game doesn't know that a two-handed sword doesn't make my offhand empty, it works with two-handed weapons. (OK, so it is not balanced)
I don't know how to fix it, and i don't think i will try to do so.
My idea is to use with a single scimitar and not be punished by it, for that, the mod does what it is intended. If you want to use with rapiers or two-handed, go for it.
Quickhands Fighting Style is a compact gameplay mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that grants a main hand attack as a bonus action. With 18 endorsements and 584 downloads, it's a niche utility for players who want extra attacks without dual wielding. Last updated September 2023.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny download and easy to install—just drop it in and go.
- Gives martial classes more flexibility in combat without needing dual wielding.
- Active author (last updated 2023) and a small but real community (18 endorsements).
⚠️ Cons
- Very low endorsement count (18) means it's barely tested by the community.
- No documentation on compatibility with other mods or game patches.
- Only adds one fighting style—if you want more variety, this won't scratch that itch.
For Baldur's Gate 3 players who want to squeeze out an extra attack per turn without committing to dual wielding. If you're a martial class fan and feel bonus actions are underused, this is a neat tweak. Skip if you're looking for major gameplay overhauls—this is a single, focused change.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the mod enabled in your mod manager before loading a save.
- Check that your character has the Fighting Style feature (Fighter, Ranger, or Paladin) to select Quickhands.
- If you're using other combat mods, test in a new game to avoid conflicts.
