PHB 2024 - Bladesinger

Tired of not having the intended freedom of the real Heroes of Faerun Bladesinger? People giving you crap for using an OP blade climax ability you know you shouldn't have?

Look no further, this mod overrides the Bladesinger subclass to accurately reflect the 2024 D&D Player's Handbook version:

- Per request I have added the Bladesong Climax back in to the Sub-class.  It now has action and spell slot costs.

============== Changes:

Weapon Restrictions Updated (NEW)

- ✅ Allows all one-handed weapons (daggers, shortswords, maces, handaxes, etc.)

- ✅ Allows versatile weapons (longswords, warhammers, battleaxes, quarterstaffs, etc.)

- ✅ Allows modded weapons (blacklist approach means any weapon without two-handed tag works)

- ✅ Mid-combat enforcement (Bladesong ends immediately if you equip a blacklisted weapon)

- ❌ Blocks true two-handed weapons (greatswords, greataxes, mauls, pikes, etc.)

- ❌ ALL armor blocks Bladesong (Light, Medium, and Heavy per PHB 2024)

- ❌ Shields block Bladesong

- ❌ NO Bladesong impeded condition when using valid weapons

Bladesong Climax Rebalanced

- ✅ Costs an Action + Spell Slot (Level 1-3, uses lowest available)

- ✅ Charges accumulate with ALL valid weapons (not just whitelisted ones)

- ✅ No charge cap - damage/healing scales with combat duration

- ✅ Properly blocked when out of spell slots

Subclass Features

Bladesong (Level 3)

- Movement: +10 feet (+2 in BG3) instead of +15 feet ✓

- Works with all one-handed and versatile weapons ✓

Training in War and Song (Level 3)

- Martial weapon proficiencies ✓

- Displays properly in level-up UI ✓

Subclass Features

Bladesong (Level 3)

- Uses: Equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1) ✓

- AC Bonus: Full Intelligence modifier (instead of scaling every 2 points) ✓

- Advantage on acrobatics ✓

- INT for weapon attacks: Use Intelligence instead of STR/DEX (persists through weapon swaps) ✓

- INT bonus to Concentration saves ✓

Training in War and Song (Level 3)

- Skill proficiency choice ✓

Extra Attack (Level 6)

- Can replace one attack with a cantrip ✓

Song of Defense (Level 10)

- Reduce damage by 5× spell slot level as a reaction ✓

Song of Victory (Level 12)

- Bonus action weapon attack after casting a spell ✓

- (Level 14 in tabletop, moved to 12 for BG3's level cap)
