📋 About This Mod
Adds the Path of Ginnungagap Barbarian subclass to BG3. This subclass has a distinct anti-magic / void warrior flavor. The Path of Ginnungagap draws its identity from Ginnungagap, the primordial void of Norse myth. Based on homebrew by Dreamfarers. Read the original at: https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-NoaQ04AK-fGGWqGbo0a. I attempted to implement features as close to Rules-as-Written (RAW) as possible, but I opted to replace the Level 10 feature, which will be detailed below.
Introduction:
Barbarians who have found themselves drawn to the Path of Ginnungagap embody the essence of the primordial void that predates existence. Spells unravel in their presence, power bleeds away, and failed magic is absorbed and repurposed as strength. As their rage deepens, the void within them grows more assertive, feeding on broken sorcery and eventually tearing at time and space themselves, slowing foes as reality strains under the weight of nothingness. Where other barbarians rage like storms or beasts, a Ginnungagap barbarian rages like the universe before creation—silent, inevitable, and utterly indifferent to the pretensions of magic.
Level 3 Feature: Null Warrior
The nothingness of Ginnungagap shields you from harm, consuming magical and physical threats alike. While you are Raging, you have Advantage on Saving Throws made to resist spells and magical effects.
Additionally, while Raging, you can use your Reaction to negate the effects of an incoming Critical Hit, turning it into a normal hit. You can only use this reaction once per Rage. (Implemented Rules-as-Written)
Level 6 Feature: Magic Syphoning
You have learned to briefly harness the Void, allowing you to snuff magic before it is unleashed while bolstering your battle rage. While you are Raging, when a creature you can see with 18m of you begins casting a spell, you can use your Reaction to attempt to interrupt the casting of that spell. Make a Constitution check. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the spell fails and has no effect, and the next time you hit a creature with a weapon attack, that attack deals extra damage equal to double the spell's level. Once you have successfully interrupted the casting of a spell, you cannot use this feature again until you use your Bonus Action to enter a Rage. (Implemented Rules-as-Written)
Level 10 Feature: Spell Eater
The Void within you can now consume hostile magic and use it to fuel itself and your own resilience. Whenever you succeed a Saving Throw against a spell, you regain 2d6 hit points.

(This is a replacement of the RAW feature, which would have functioned very similarly to Dispel Magic; ultimately, this would have been janky to implement properly in BG3,
Adds the Path of Ginnungagap Barbarian subclass, adapted from Dreamfarers' design, themed around Norse mythology's primordial void. It focuses on anti-magic, spell-eating, and void-powered abilities. With 31 endorsements and nearly 40k downloads, it's a niche but popular choice for Barbarian players seeking a unique magical counter.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (39,614 downloads, 31 endorsements) shows people are trying it, even if few bother to endorse.
- Fills a niche for Barbarian players who want a magical counter, not just raw damage.
- Norse mythology theme is a fresh take compared to typical barbarian rage paths.
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (31) suggests it might have issues or just isn't memorable enough to recommend.
- Last updated in February 2026 — could be outdated if the game has patched since.
For Baldur's Gate 3 players who love Barbarians but want a spell-eating, anti-magic twist. Perfect for those who enjoy Norse mythology and want a subclass that feels different from the standard berserker. Skip if you prefer straightforward damage or don't care about magical enemies.
