Oath Of Divine Tempest - Paladin Subclass

Game Play Style

The Oath of the Divine Tempest leans heavily into the Thor-inspired fantasy — combining lightning-infused strikes, spells, and a throwable warhammer. Currently being tested through Act 2, the subclass offers a high-power fantasy without being overtuned — it scales well and feels impactful without trivialising encounters.

That said, it does grant significantly more ranged flexibility than the base Paladin, which can feel a bit overtuned in some situations — especially if you take the Tavern Brawler feat (and let’s be honest, why wouldn’t you?).

I’d love to hear how others experience it. While I may tweak a few things over time, this is intended as a fully realised subclass, complete with custom spell effects, animations, and full level progression.

  Level 13-20 Subclass Update

  I am actively rolling out new updates for the Divine Tempest subclass to provide options to players who use level 13+ mods like Expansion or UnlockLevelCurve. The latest update (1. 0. 0. 28) and previous update add:

  • []Damage scaling for core class actions (Hurl of Judgement, Stormflash and Strike From Above) and unique cantrips added (Shocking Blade and Stormstriker Slash)

    []New Fourth and Fifth level spells (Stormrider and Destructive Wave - Lightning)

    []New passives, including Charged Storm Rider & Surging Stormforged Rider.

  There are still some updates to make, but this latest patch will allow players to continue putting levels into Divine Tempest past level 12.

  Channel Oath Abilities

  Stormflash (Lv 1)

  Vanish in a flash of divine lightning, teleporting up to 9 m with a bonus action. Upon arrival, enemies within 2 m take lightning damage.

  Strike From Above (Lv 3)

  After hurling your stormforged hammer, unleash a blast of divine lightning with a bonus action.

  Forged By Storms (Subclass Feature - Lv 7)

  The storm has become part of you. While this aura is active, you gain:

  []Forged By Storms Aura -You are immune to Electric Surfaces and gain Resistance to Lightning damage.

  []Charged Storms - Your lightning/thunder-based attacks generate 1 Lightning Charge and may strike your target with a stray bolt of
