Nostalgia Music Pack

Replaces some of the music in BG3 with music selections and mixes from the Original Games.

The list of files I've modified and re-mixed with themes from the originals is in the picture provided.  There are a few more I've replaced as well not showing in that pic, but you can download the full list from the resources download.

Short Description of replaced files:

Main Theme 1 is fully replaced.

The other Main themes are partial replacements with remix elements.

Most battle music is replaced with remixed elements.  I still find areas that don't use the ones listed, I'm not sure how the game uses these, but I have heard them all, just not all the time.  If a more complete list of battle songs is provided in the future I may add more.

Some key songs at specific game times also have remixed elements.   I tried my best to be both sensitive and discrete with these but I also wanted to make sure I got enough of that Nostalgia flavor in at important times.

In-depth explanation of how these tracks were created:

If you're like me, you appreciate the old Games and love them for the Gem's they are.  Playing the 3rd game felt off to me until I realized that the music just didn't have that same vibe, didn't make me feel like I was playing a Baldur's Gate game.  The new OST is fine for the most part, a little bland here and there, a bit too repetitive, but very admirable work.  But it just wasn't BALDURS GATE to me.  The vibe wasn't there.

So, I have tried to make it a bit more like baldur's gate.  I did this for the most part by NOT outright replacing every track (there are over 400 in BG3 so not going to happen with only 120 songs or so from the first 2 Games to choose from).  That option isn't practical or feasible or even desirable by my judgement because I also like quite a few of the new tracks.  Therefore I did the next best thing.  I remixed and added in that old Nostalgia to mix in with the new tracks in specific places and times.

Most every track in this mod is a mixed song with themes from bg1 or bg2 mixed in with the track being replaced in specific places that I did my best to make pleasing to the ear.

This wasn't exactly easy.  Indeed multiple parts of the this project are well beyond my usual scope of modding.  I'm no audio technician, nor a musician.  I like music however, and so that makes me qualified enough to make a mod for my own enjoyment, and if you like it as well, all the better.  I did my best, but if you want to try it yourself feel free.  If you make something better than me I'll probably download your mod instead.  I've provided all the resources in the resources pack.  It contains instructions on how to encode to .wem, and the list
