Lie to Glut - Sovereign Glut Quest Tweaks and Bugfixes

Made for Patch 8 - Hotfix 36, and the BG3 July Modathon 2026!

This mod is pretty simple: it lets you lie to a mushroom.

Specifically, it adds a new deception check dialog option to Sovereign Glut's dialogue asking you to kill Spaw.

Man please don't hurt me, I definitely, definitely won't ruin your assassination plot against Spaw, I promise 🤞

This mod also makes a number of tweaks and bugfixes regarding Glut's quest in general, including fixing an issue that breaks your ability betray Glut once you've told him you'll kill Sovereign Spaw.

... Did you know you're supposed to be able to betray him?

Because you are!

... But it's extremely easy to break your ability to do so in the vanilla game, if Sovereign Glut isn't close enough to Spaw to join the dialog with him, and confront Spaw himself. And Glut isn't very fast, so it's very easy to leave him just enough behind that he can't join the dialog.

This mod fixes that! It also tweaks the encounter if you betray Glut to make both the player and the myconids enter combat sooner (by preventing you from being yeeted off the mushroom platform after the dialog, and drawing the myconids to the area where the fight is). It gives Glut the same boss state that's applied if you refuse to help him fight Spaw to when you betray him, too, and makes it so you can safely loot Glut's body after the fight, rather than triggering the other myconids to become hostile.

So, let's go lie to a myconid! Don't worry, Glut, I definitely won't betray you to get the rest of the myconid circle's help in fighting you <3 It's fine!

Installation and Uninstallation:

Use BG3 Mod Manager to install. Uninstall by deleting the mod from your mods folder or moving it out of your mod load order.

This mod is safe to install and uninstall at any time, including mid-playthrough!
