📋 About This Mod
You are cursed. Dark magicks infuse your very being. But while curing yourself is no longer possible, learning to live with your curse – turning it to your advantage, even – may yet be possible.
This mod is based on a homebrew class by Ross Leiser called the Accursed, including some additional content (a subclass, some spells) from Benjamin Huffman, from The Ultimate Adventurer's Handbook. It's a class I've always enjoyed conceptually for its flavour, so I'm happy to have a chance bringing it over to Baldur's Gate 3. The core of the class is a half-caster that can use their magic to debuff enemies; subclasses and an invocation-like system allow the class to played in more martial-ish and more cast-heavy ways.
Ideally you'd choose your casting stat, but for technical reasons the default is Charisma; a few optional files allow you to convert it to Intelligence or Wisdom.
Be aware: every Accursed suffers from ailments of some kind. They can be temporarily be suppressed, but they cannot be permanently removed without just outright respeccing out of the class. But if you're willing to work around the disadvantages, you may find the power to be a worthy trade-off. Of course, the nature of an Accursed is highly dependent on what curse, exactly, they're living with:
- []Curse of the Armament: Armament Cursed are bound to a Cursed Weapon. A magical weapon that never leaves your side isn't the worst thing to have – but it does get a little jealous of other weaponry you might want to use.[/]
- []Curse of Combustion: Those with the Curse of Combustion have an unquenchable flame within them, just waiting to burst. They get great and powerful fire magic... but have a pretty everpresent chance of exploding at any given moment.[/]
- []Curse of the Created: Bulky, tanky, and stitched together from corpses, Created Accursed do not tend to be popular among the general populace. Pretty handy to have on your side in a brawl, though.[/]
- []Curse of Immortality: Immortals have done a bit of everything, from weapons to cantrips to skills. The magic that keeps them the same day after day blocks out all other restorative magic, but that's fine; they'll be back come dawn anyway.[/]
-
[]Curse of Invisibility: Your visage was stolen from you, and you've only managed to recently return to partial visibility. Fine motor skills might be a bit beyond you when you can't even focus on your fingers, but certainly being able to turn invisible at a moment's notice has its advantages.[/]
Not included as an option by default, but available as an optional file, is the Curse of Vampirism. It relies on some grappling features from the Grappling
