📋 About This Mod

DESCRIPTION

This mod fixes visuals for the cage trap in Act 1.

• Fixes the entire cage vanishing on destroying the floor

• Fixes the cage floor floating in space on returning to the area or loading a save

• Fixes the cage floor floating in space if the scene is cancelled¹

¹ one example of the scene being cancelled is finding Lae'zel on the beach

For existing saves, this mod will only work before freeing Lae'zel or before leaving the tutorial respectively.

TECHNICAL

INSTALLATION

Can be safely added and removed mid-playthrough. It will not fix existing visual problems in a save.

COMPATIBILITY

Should be compatible with everything.

OTHER MODS

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod fixes two visual bugs with Lae'zel's cage trap in Act 1: the entire cage vanishing when the floor is destroyed, and the cage floor floating if the cutscene is cancelled (e.g., finding Lae'zel on the beach). It's for players who want consistent visuals early in Baldur's Gate 3. Safe to add/remove mid-playthrough but won't fix already-broken saves.

✨ Key Features

Fixes the entire cage vanishing when the floor is destroyed.
Fixes the cage floor floating in space when the scene is cancelled (e.g., finding Lae'zel on the beach).
Can be safely added and removed mid-playthrough.
For existing saves, only works before freeing Lae'zel or before leaving the tutorial.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Fixes two specific visual bugs that are easy to notice in Act 1.
  • Safe to add and remove mid-playthrough, so no risk to your save.
  • Small niche mod with one endorsement and 55 downloads — real players found it useful.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only helps existing saves if you haven't freed Lae'zel or left the tutorial yet — late-game saves won't benefit.
  • It's a very narrow fix for one object; if you never noticed the cage bug, you won't see a difference.
  • Purely visual — does nothing for gameplay, story, or character mechanics.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Baldur's Gate 3 players who replay the opening and get annoyed by the cage vanishing or floating floor. Skip if you're already deep into Act 2 or 3 — the fix only matters for early saves. Ideal for completionists or those who like a clean, bug-free opening scene.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Install the .pak file into your Baldur's Gate 3 Mods folder or use BG3 Mod Manager, then enable it before starting a new campaign or before reaching Lae'zel.
  • If you're mid-playthrough and have already freed Lae'zel, don't bother enabling — it won't fix your current save; start a new game or reload a pre-tutorial save.
  • Since it's purely visual and compatible with everything, you can safely add it without worrying about breaking your save order.
