📋 About This Mod
What is this mod?
All deities are enabled for all classes and races by default. Have you ever wondered whether a sharran could swim with selunite Shadowheart? With this mod, you can find out.
All the "cleric of ..." tags are renamed into "worshipper of ...", such that your Way of Shadow Monk can worship Shar and have access to all sharran content in dialogs without breaking immersion. Paladins get their "paladin of ..." tags too.
Originally this was part of my Really Shadowheart mod. However, to avoid mod conflicts and allow players to fine tune their load orders, I decided to move it out into a mod of its own.
Installation
The mod has no dependencies. Drop the pak into your mods folder, and enable it in the in-game Mod Manager.
You can also use Laughing Leader's Mod Manager to install it.
If you enable this mod mid-playthrough, you need to ask Withers to re-class your Tav if you want to pick a deity.
Why everyone who joins my party worship Selune?
Well, perhaps she's worthy, why wouldn't they?
I fixed this bug in 1. 0. 0. 2, however there's a caveat. A character sheet doesn't reflect the actual worship status of a character. It always shows the status as it was when the game was loaded, or when a companion joined the party. That's why you may see (if you don't save scum much) Shadowheart's deity "Shar" while she has already dyed her hair in silver. When a companion joins you, their character sheet will show their deity as "Selune". Worry not, quicksave/quickload, and any mention of a deity will be gone from their character sheet.
Compatibility
This mod doesn't use BG3 Script Extender. This means, it may not be compatible with other mods that add custom classes and races to the game.
Freedom of Religion is a character customisation mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that removes deity restrictions, allowing any class and race to choose any deity, including paladins. With 80 endorsements and over 2,000 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated mod for players seeking more roleplay freedom.
