📋 About This Mod
Description
Flail of the Holy Crusader is the third and final entry in my legendary off-hand flail series.
The original design goal was simple: I wanted to see what a flail version of the Blood of Lathander might look like. From there, the project grew into a custom legendary weapon built around the idea of a sacred battlefield relic carried by a holy warrior into battle against fiends and the undead.
The weapon's model was created from modified in-game assets, with custom work performed in Blender to transform the original components into a functioning flail while retaining normal chain movement and weapon physics.
As with the other flails in the series, the goal was not to create a weapon covered in a mile-long list of bonuses. The Flail of the Holy Crusader is intended to be powerful enough for endgame use while having a clear identity of its own: divine protection, light, and occasional dramatic judgment against creatures that should probably have stayed in the darkness.
It is designed primarily as a legendary off-hand weapon for Paladins, Clerics, martial holy characters, or anyone else who feels that evil could occasionally benefit from being hit in the face with a sacred object attached to a chain.
This mod is completely standalone.

BG3 Mod Manager: Import the downloaded ZIP, move the mod to your active load order, and export the load order to the game.

Main features
Legendary +3 Off-Hand Flail
The Flail of the Holy Crusader is intended specifically for off-hand use and grants Two-Weapon Fighting, allowing the wielder to add their ability modifier to the damage of their off-hand attacks.
Divine Light
The flail can radiate Divine Light in a 6 m / 20 ft radius.
Divine Light illuminates the surrounding area, protects against the weaker effects of the Shadow Curse, and forces nearby fiends and undead in combat to make Constitution saving throws or become Blinded. Creatures that resist the light are temporarily protected from repeated saves.
Divine Light can be freely toggled on or off and automatically ends when the weapon is unequipped.
Suffer Not the Wicked
Striking a fiend or undead creature with the flail has a 10% chance to invoke the relic's judgment.
The target makes a DC 16 saving throw, with the result depending upon the nature o
Adds a standalone legendary +3 off-hand flail for Paladins, Clerics, and holy martial builds in Baldur's Gate 3. It grants Two-Weapon Fighting and focuses on divine protection, light, and occasional burst damage against fiends and undead. The model uses in-game assets modified in Blender with real chain physics. Zero endorsements and 3 downloads so far.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fills an underserved niche: a holy off-hand flail for dual-wield Paladin/Cleric builds.
- Standalone drop-in—no dependency juggling, just install and find it in the Tutorial Chest.
- Real chain physics from Blender work keeps the flail feeling like a flail, not a static club.
⚠️ Cons
- Zero endorsements and only 3 downloads—no community track record yet.
- Off-hand exclusive, so shield and two-handed builds skip it.
- Deliberately avoids a huge list of bonuses, so min-maxers wanting a stat stick will be disappointed.
For Baldur's Gate 3 players running Paladin, Cleric, or holy martial dual-wield builds who want a thematic off-hand flail with real chain physics. Also for fans of SaberDelta's previous flail series who want the final entry. Skip if you prefer shields, two-handers, or min-maxed stat-stacked weapons—this is a focused legendary, not a power fantasy list.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're adding this mid-playthrough, use a Tutorial Chest summoning mod to access the flail without restarting.
- Import the ZIP in BG3 Mod Manager, move it to active load order, then export to the game—Vortex users can just install and enable.
- Equip the flail in your off-hand to trigger the built-in Two-Weapon Fighting; pairing it with a holy main-hand weapon completes the crusader theme.
