Cuddle Astarion

Do you want to cuddle Astarion? Well now your character can!

This mod adds customised cutscenes and new sleep animations that allow Astarion and his partner to cuddle at night. It supports all vanilla races and body types and includes different animations for Spawn and Ascended Astarion.

For the new scenes to trigger, you need to have finished The Pale Elf quest and completed his act 3 romance scene. From then on, the scene will trigger whenever you initiate a long rest while controlling Astarion or his partner provided both of them are in the active party, and as long as there are no queued camp events that force-skip the default sleep cutscene.

I recommend installing this mod with BG3MM so you can control where it’s placed in your load order. It should be fine to install and uninstall at any point.

This mod overrides the below files:

It may conflict with other mods that edit the Animation Base files, most notably mods that add new Photo Mode poses. If the new sleep animations aren’t working as intended, placing this mod below any other mods that add new animations should fix them. You can move it up or down in your load order depending on which animations you want to prioritise for your current game session.

The scenes will play in all act 3 camps. They should play in modded versions of the camps as well, provided the location of the four main beds wasn’t changed. This mod can also be used in multiplayer campaigns.

There will be minor clipping with some outfits and hairstyles. The animations were made with vanilla body types and camp clothing in mind, meaning clipping will likely be worse with bulky or loose-fitting camp outfits, modded bodies, very large horns, etc. I won’t be adding new animations for custom races or fixing clipping with non-vanilla body models – every part of this mod was done by hand and it’s just too much work to accommodate non-vanilla options as well, sorry.

If Astarion dies, the cuddle cutscene won’t trigger until the next time you load a save after resurrecting him. This is intentional, and is a failsafe to make sure the game doesn’t try to put him in the cutscene while he’s dead.
