What is Bae'qeshel?

Bae'qeshel was a bardic art known to very few drow. Wielders of bae'qeshel were known as the "dark minstrels." The song was keening and magical.

Unlike divine magic, dark minstrels tapped into the Weave, and did not require a connection with a deity to wield it. However, according to Halisstra, it was sung in honor to Lolth.

The songs had a wide range of effects, often involving compulsion and other enchantments, but they also had more reality-altering abilities such as healing grievous wounds, creating dimension doors, and producing sonic blasts capable of stripping bark off of trees, as shown by Halisstra. (Source: Forgatten Realms Wiki)

Overview:

The original College of Bae'qeshel mod is a great and interesting bard subclass mod, but the original mod currently doesn't run in patch 8 and the original author has neglected it and stopped updating it. I think it's a shame that a mod of this quality is being forgotten, so I'm uploading it with the original mod's Modfixer removed to make it run on Patch 8.

Description:

Level 3 - Bae'qeshel Song

At level 3 a College of Bae'qeshel Bard will choose 2 songs from a list of 10 songs. You can learn 2 additional songs of your choice at 6th, 10th, 15th, and 20th level.

A list of the songs available to the Bae'qeshel follows. Those denoted with a  are able to be upcasted.

• []Aria of Discordance  - You can spend an inspiration die and use your action to create a cone of sonic force. Each creature in a 30 foot cone originating from you must make a CON saving throw or take thunder damage and be pushed away from you.
  • []Dark Minstrels Lullabye  - When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can use your bonus action and expend one inspiration die to attempt to inflict additional poison damage.

  • []Disarming Trill - When you hit a creature with a spell or weapon attack, you can expend one inspiration die to attempt to disarm the target. You add the inspiration die to the attack’s damage roll.
    • []Hymn of Intimidation - When you hit a creature with a spell or weapon attack, you can spend your bonus action and expend one inspiration die to attempt to frighten the target. You add the inspiration die to the attack’s damage roll.
