Alpha Dither Shader Fix - Replacer and Standalone

UPDATE 1. 1: Added support for "excluding" tintable areas by using black in MSK texture maps (it will use the Basecolor Map without tinting).

For non modder users: don't worry about it and just grab the update regardless of the version(s) you downloaded.

Some tintable equipment in the game (modded and vanilla alike) use the shader called CHAR_BASE_AlphaTest_2S_Dither (usually used for translucent materials, or things like feathers). The big drawback of using this shader has always been the ugly white outlines it adds. With this mod, the white outlines are gone!

Two versions (you can install both at the same time)

🔷 REPLACER: Overrides the vanilla shader to fix it across the whole game. It will affect all items that use this shader, vanilla and modded.

🔷 STANDALONE: Only download this if a modder tells you to! This is the non-replacer version, that other modders can use in their own mod (see further below about how to use this as a modder).

Instructions for modders that want to use the fix in their own mod

- Download and install the Standalone version (and direct your users to do the same)

- Change the Source File in your material to this:

Public/Shared/Assets/Materials/Characters/LYN_CHAR_BASE_AlphaTest_2S_Dither.lsf

- Alternatively, just download and install the replacer (direct your users to do the same), and use the vanilla dither shader in your material

Public/Shared/Assets/Materials/Characters/CHAR_BASE_AlphaTest_2S_Dither.lsf

This shader fix has the exact same usage as the vanilla Dither shader, so it is still two-sided and supports Alpha, MSKCloth and Vertcut.

ℹ️For modders who want to publish on modio, do not use the standalone version, as this fix is not available on modio so the requirement/dependency would just confuse users.

Installation

Use BG3 Mod Manager to install (I won't provide support for other installations, as I only use BG3MM myself).

When you install and activate the mod it will be placed in the Overrides section
