2024 Purple Dragon Knight (UA) - Fighter Subclass

Some Notes on the Dragon:

The dragon model in BG3 has no movement animations.  This is a big issue when trying to make a working dragon companion.  "Fixing" this opens up some new issues, which are handled as follows:

The dragon animations are custom with all credit to Ninjoma and a huge thank you for letting me reuse them.

• []They need to be reset occasionally as you play.  This will happen automatically (credit Celes) through Osiris scripting (instead of SE, for console compatibility). When you see the dragon blink into a mote of light and back again - that's the reset and it's expected behavior.

  []Osiris can be picky when it comes to new scripts added mid-save.  You will very likely need to start a new playthrough to use this subclass mod properly without the dragon breaking.

  []If your rig is performing poorly, you may run into an issue where the wings flap in a choppy way - reboot or free up resources if this happens.

  []The game never intended for a thing this large to be inside buildings and run around with the party.  When the dragon grows to full size, pathfinding can get weird so you can shrink it down to help in certain areas.

  Level 3: Knightly Envoy

  You learn one language of your choice, which you choose from the language tables in the Player’s Handbook.

  Additionally, you can cast the Comprehend Languages spell but only as a Ritual. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for it.

  IMPLEMENTATION:  You can cast Speak with Animals 1/day.

  Level 3: Purple Dragon Companion

  You are bonded with an amethyst dragon hatchling that serves as your purple dragon companion and uses the Purple Dragon Companion stat block. The purple dragon is Friendly to you and your allies and obeys your commands.

  The Dragon in Combat.

  In combat, the dragon acts during your turn. It can move and use its Reaction on its own, but the only action it takes is the Dodge action unless you take a Bonus Action to command it to take an action in its stat block or some other action. If you have the Incapacitated condition, the dragon acts on its own and isn’t limited to the Dodge action.

  Resurrecting the Dragon.

  If the dragon companion has died within the last hour, you can take a Magic action to touch the dragon and expend a use of your Second Wind. The dragon returns to life after 1 minute with all its Hit Points restored.

  Otherwise, you can perform a 1-hour ceremony to resurrect the dragon; this ceremony can be performed as part of a Short or Long Rest.

  IMPLEMENTATION: You can summon the dragon 1/day, and it stays until it dies.  You can resummon it the same day if you expend the daily use of your Second Wind, or short rest.  It will sh
