Atlas Economy Overview A simple Galaxy Map economy layer that lets your current ship see economy heatmaps from your other ships. The Atlas mod series is my attempt to bring a real new wave of life into Avorion — a bridge between the great mods that came before, the need to keep things updated, and the kind of quality-of-life improvements that can make the game feel fresh again. Some of these mods are about smoothing rough edges, some are about expanding what is possible, and some are about pushing Avorion into spaces that feel underexplored. The heart of Atlas, though, comes from something I have always felt the game was missing: a stronger sense of storytelling, atmosphere, and lore. That does not mean Atlas will only be about lore. Far from it. The series is meant to grow into a wider collection of mods — from immersive and worldbuilding-focused ideas to practical tools, UI improvements, and other systems that can make the game richer and more enjoyable to play. My goal is not to overwrite what makes Avorion special, but to build on it, preserve its strengths, and expand it in ways that make it feel like a genuine breath of fresh air for an older game that still has so much untapped potential. Avorion may be in maintenance mode, but the modding API is still surprisingly deep, and there are systems, ideas, and possibilities in it that have barely been touched. That is what makes this exciting to me. I want Atlas to do more than just add new mods — I want it to show what is possible, spark ideas for other modders, and maybe even help inspire a new wave of creativity around the game.
