Distinctive features of Marteau-Wotan ships are all around armour, a focus on heavy calibre turreted direct fire armament, huge engines usually aranged into five seperate clusters and last but not least their specialty, fully enclosed thruster technology. Marteau and Wotan where separate companies in the past and each brought their own design cues. Ships wich where primarily designed by Marteau are somewhat boatlike while Wotan ships are usually wider and blockier or thin and long. But the lines between both design philosophies are somwhat blury on newer ships. What both have in common however is that they are usually smaller than comparable ships of similar specs, especially when it comes to destroyers, cruisers and higher categories. While this to a degree keeps the ships manouverable and fast, it depenends on compact building techniques, which use alot of high grade materials and computercore technologies, making Marteau-Wotan ships quite expensive for their size, both in credits and material recources. They are therefor considered a premium option for military grade ships and are more than just a tool, but also a statement. Made to last they express the confidence of the user to be more than a temporary power, but a force to be reckoned with for the era. Often mocked as luxury boats with guns, the living conditions onboard MWS ships are, while not living up to the mockery, considered above average for military grade ships. C
