Astronium Gateway Engines

Description

Did you ever think the gateway technology looks like it's made from astronium?  Well, it is!  The gravitational focus around the Gateway Engines, located at the center of planets and moons, allows tappers to extract astronium from them.

Tappers will work on the inner sphere and outer lattice, but not on the spiral arms that reach into the outer core of the planet.  They will also not work on Gateway Chambers located on the surface of planetoids.

I am no longer involved with Astroneer modding.  It is unlikely that I will update any of my mods or be available to support them in any way.

Game Balance Warning

This mod may be considered a cheat, as it potentially facilitates fully automated production of unlimited amounts of scrap.  While there are other methods of producing unlimited scrap in the base game, each has a particular caveat that is avoided by using this mod.

Broken Tapper Warning

Tappers attached to a gateway engine may enter a 'broken' state if you disable this mod before loading your save.  Broken tappers do not produce a resource, cannot be interacted with, and cannot be picked up.  Broken tappers can be fixed with my Fix Broken Tappers mod.

Installation

• []This mod requires the third-party mod AstroModLoader Classic to function.

  []The ZIP file includes multiple variations of this mod, each contained in a separate folder indicating the length of time it takes the tapper to produce one nugget of astronium.  Choose just one PAK file that best matches your preferred game balance.

  []Extract the chosen PAK file from the ZIP file and drag it into the mod loader window.  I will not provide help or support for mod installation or using mod loaders.

  • []This mod does not supersede any game assets directly.  All edits are made dynamically via the mod loader integrator to avoid conflicts and update issues.
