📋 About This Mod
- Removes attack indicators while leaving the rest of the SSI functions- Speeds up the counter process in combat
I always thought that AC3 had some weird little details that spoiled the global mechanics. Game’s combat system is very impressive, but the developers went too far with the balance. This mod brings back two small features from the first demo (Boston demo 2012) of the game that, in my opinion, look better in the full picture of the game:
- Attack indicator removal without removing the stealth indicators: now there are no stupid triangles above the enemies that warn you about the attack even before the enemy swings. In the game, you can turn them off only by turning off SSI completely, but this deprives you of the ability to track detection during stealth, which makes many story missions impossible considering how broken game AI is
- Faster counter: in the vanilla game Connor literally stops time during the counter, this makes your decision window so large that if you add a little more, you could go out for a smoke or make tea during combat. Now the counter lasts much shorter, which makes the fights more dynamic.
Both of these features slightly balance the combat system. The fights feel more dynamic. I recommend this mod for those who want to replay or play the game for the first time focusing on the storyline and side content.
In the near future, I want to rebalance the enemy AI, and improve the stealth process in the game. Or at least make it more similar to the Ezio trilogy or AC 4.
Just copy the forge files to the game folder. If you want to install specific files via Toolkit, they are also in the archive
