AI Settle 2nd Island Delay

Installation

Download the zip file, extract it and move it into the mods folder of your Anno 1800. Start a new game.

X:\Users\\Documents\Anno 1800\mods

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Anno 1800\mods

You can download one of my MOD examples with the slowest settler Willie Wibblesock set to every other AI.

Uninstall

Delete the folder Settle2ndIslandDelay or add a "-" in front of the folder name.

How do you change the delay of the AI settling on your own?

In the subfolder of the mod you will find the file assets.xml

Open the file with a text editor like Notepad or something similar.

The standard delays for each AI are included, except for George Smith I couldn't find such setting, so I added for him a value.

The delay is added to their usual behaviour.

Below is a table how much time is usually added or in this case I guess it's more like an "ingame ticker".

I did a few tests on my pc which could be a little bit different on another slower/faster pc.

In my case 1500000 (1. 5 million ticks) are about 5 minutes on the fastest speed or about 25 minutes on normal speed.

As I don't have the DLC you would have to find the corresponding GUID for Hugo Mercier on your own - at least for now.

This mod does NOT

it does not changes the behaviour of the AI. There are some values you could change in the big settings file regarding the AI but I couldn't find settings to change their expansion rate. That's probably in the program code...

If you want to add other AI's later on in the game I suggest the MOD AI shipyard. But as I started to play this game I wanted a softer approach. So the competitors are already in the game but you will have a headstart to settle other islands.
