Romulus Color Grading

THIS PRESET IS MADE FOR A SDR IPS SCREEN

The release of Alien Romulus by Fede Alvarez, inspired me to make a preset based on the movie color grading.

For this preset, I first color corrected the game and then I applied a mild color grading, wich has a warm sepia tone and saturated colors. This Is what I've learned while I was studying multiple movie screenshots as reference.

This preset is based on the mods Improved Graphic and Alias Isolation (the latter adds TAA to the game). I provided some sharpening to reduce the blur caused by the TAA and also, I've enhaced the texture detail.

As always this is a performance friendly preset =)

There is another version of this preset, that adds the popular Ray Tracing mod by Pascal Gilcher (RTGI). It’s not uploaded on

  INSTALLATION

  o  Download and install Alias Isolation  - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (I used the v1. 0. 6)

  o  Download and install Improved Graphics - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  o  Download my mod from the main files

  o  Extract the content of the rar archive here:

  Steam/steamapps/common/Alien Isolation

  o  Launch the game. Open Reshade Gui with the HOME key, select the Romulus Color Grading.ini preset, from the drop-down menu. Then mark the checkbox:

  Performance Mode. That's it, enjoy your game ;)

  Keys: HOME - to toggle ON ReSHADE; SCRL LOCK – to toggle on the preset

  TO UNINSTALL EVERYTHING:  delete manually these files and this folder

  PERFORMANCE

  The vanilla game has stellar performance. I suspect it runs maxed out even on toasters!!! With the two mod mentioned above + my preset, the game still perform well. I noticed here and there some minor stutter, while using the TAA mod (in particular while recording with OBS). But nothing that will ruin the experience. For peace of mind, I suggest to limit your fps in RTSS. I set mine to 6Ofps. On a complete vanilla game, I have 0fps loss. As per experience, depending on the PC used and section or the game, you can expect from 0 to 2fps loss top!
