A comprehensive 4K/60fps cutscene remaster.

Fixes to 60fps playback performance, restored language subtitles and improved quality. 264 version removed.

>ABOUT_

Cutscenes in Alien Isolation have been upscaled from 1080p/30fps to shine on modern UHD screens 4K/60fps. You will notice much less compression pixellation and clearer detail to the originals.

>INSTALLATION_

1. Navigate to your game video directory e.g: G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Alien Isolation\DATA\UI\MOVIES

2. Copy the files from the 7z file into your video folder above.

3. Copy the DLL from the AIMovieFix. 7z  into your main game directory (where the main .exe file is)

>NOTES AND ISSUES_

• []All original language options are preserved and subtitles restored except for the APOLLO cutscene which i had to hard-code, so only English is available. (v4)[/]

  []The cutscene where Amanda radios Samuels had inconsistent frame pacing which makes it appear less smooth than other videos. This is expected, atm trying to improve it is diminishing returns.  [/]

  []Retro/low quality cutscenes have intentionally not been remastered or interpolated to preserve the intended effect. [/]

  []Install your game to a fast drive - SSD or NVMe for the best playback performance. [/]

  • []STEAM DECK + LINUX: 

    add to your launch options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xinput1_3=n,b" %command%[/]

    []Another mod using xinput1_3.dll? 

    Try renaming this one d3d11.dll, winmm.dll or dxgi.dll.[/]

  • You can also try editing the AI.exe in a hexeditor if you want to bypass using the DLL entirely, though I have not tested this with the latest version.(http://hexed.it should work) Search for these hexadecimal values:  68 00 00 E8 01change that to 68 00 00 00 04Then search for BE 00 00 00 20 change that to BE 00 00 18 22

    []Playback is choppy

    Update to latest version (4)[/]

    []Cutscenes do not play

    Extract the aimoviefix mod into the game root directory again and relaunch. Ensure all video files are present. This mod only replaces some cutscenes.[/]

    []Download is slow, interrupts, the 7z file is corrupt etc.

    - Pay for a premium Nexus account for faster download speeds. I do not have storage or bandwidth to host files or seed torrents- "Corrupt" errors just mean that the file has not downloaded completely, redownload

    If you have any other issues please create a bug report and describe what happens and how to recreate the problem. If i can identify the issue i will try to remedy it if possible.
