F-14B -VMFP-3-

"What-if" livery of an F-14B Tomcat if they had been used for US Marine Recce duty under VMFP-3. For skin slots 7 and 8; requires Lanzerince's F-14B aircraft addon.

REQUIRES LANZERINCE'S F-14B ADD-ON!

This skin depicts a "what-if" livery of the US Marine air unit VMFP-3 "Eyes of the Corps" if they had used the F-14B Tomcat in the 1990s. Originally formed as an amalgamation of the USMC's composite reconnaissance squadrons, VMFP-3 flew RF-4B Phantom IIs until their disestablishment in 1990 - the USMC would not fill that role until 2000 with the development of the "ATARS" system for their F/A-18D Hornet.

In some distant timeline, though, the USMC could have utilized the Navy's F-14 Tomcat and its "TARPS" recon pod system in their own squadrons...

It has multiple neat details like film reel-inspired fuselage/droptank stripes, and a unique emblem on the tail based off off patches associated with Navy F-14 TARPS missions. To evoke an early 90s/Desert Storm sort of vibe, there's also nose art of America's bad boy during the Gulf War, Bart J. Simpson, in a flight suit. Eat my shorts!

This takes up skin slots 7 or 8 for the F-14B.
